Approva CEO Prashanth “PV” Boccasam Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of the Year® 2007 Award Finalist in Greater Washington
May 14, 2007 - Reston, VA
Approva® Corporation (http://www.approva.net), the leader in continuous controls monitoring and audit automation software, today announced that CEO Prashanth “PV” Boccasam is a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® 2007 Award in the Greater Washington Region.
According to Ernst & Young, the awards program was designed to recognize outstanding entrepreneurs on a regional, national and global level who are building and leading dynamic, growing businesses. PV was selected as a finalist from over 100 nominations by a panel of independent judges.
“I am deeply honored to be a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of the Year Award,” said PV. “This recognition is about our company, its people, our partners and the solutions we deliver. The value of our solutions is eclipsed only by the quality of our team members, who understand compliance and forward looking, long-term repeat investors who believed in Approva’s vision before Sarbanes Oxley was even passed as a law.”
PV has been Approva’s CEO since the company’s launch in 2001. As reports of corporate financial misstatements were first emerging, he envisioned a huge market potential in developing business controls that would continuously monitor key processes to prevent such issues. Over the last five years, PV has shepherded Approva from an idea on a white board to the leading provider of enterprise controls management software.
The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards program celebrates its 21st anniversary this year. Awards are given to entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.
Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2007 national program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California on November 17, 2007. The national Entrepreneur Of The Year celebration is part of Ernst & Young’s Strategic Growth Forum. The overall national Entrepreneur Of The Year award recipient is then considered for the world event held in Monte Carlo. Award winners for the Greater Washington region will be announced at a June 21, 2007, event at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner.
