The Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for the positioning, packaging, pricing, product direction and market intelligence for Approva’s BizRights suite of product offerings. The right candidate will work efficiently and effectively with the product management and corporate marketing teams throughout the product lifecycle/product roadmap process. In addition, the manager will work closely with the sales organization to ensure the field is equipped to effectively communicate the value and capabilities of Approva’s products. The Product Marketing Manager requires a blend of software expertise, product vision and market knowledge.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct thorough market and competitive analysis to determine product direction, winning positioning and competitive tactics.
  • Analyze needs of customer base and identify opportunities based on demand and product direction.
  • Develop and disseminate market and product positioning, packaging, messaging, pricing and competitive information throughout the company.
  • Work closely with product teams to determine product direction and roadmap.
  • Serve as external evangelist, communicating company and product key messages to external audiences.
  • Segment target market and work with corporate marketing team to develop and execute lead generation and awareness campaigns.
  • Develop and drive comprehensive product launches.
  • Create sales tools including presentations, sales sheets, whitepapers, customer case studies, ROI collateral, Web messaging, etc.
  • Play active role in training the sales force through formal and informal means.
  • Work with partners to expand product capabilities; communicate joint value to company.
  • Serve as external liaison to relevant associations and other member organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of product marketing or product management experience in technology-based industry (software, hardware, systems consulting).
  • Demonstrated understanding of at least one of the following: ERP systems (Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP), internal controls management, IT audit. 
  • Demonstrated ability to bring new product to market in emerging competitive environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to position, package and price products while launching them to both the external market and internal sales force.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, written, verbal and presentation.
  • Bachelor degree required. MBA or other advanced degree desired.
