Suhas Deshpande
Biography
A chartered accountant (CPA equivalent) with over 24 years of experience in assurance, and operational / Systems Risk Management practice. Suhas has also served at senior level, responsible for finance function, with Cummins (India) Limited, and as a financial controller with a multinational company overseas.
Suhas is a Managing Partner with Kirtane & Pandit, one of the leading accounting firms in India, operating over last five decades.
Kirtane & Pandit is a part of K&P Group, which has offices spread over not only in India but also in the US, Middle East and UK as well.
Suhas carries a wealth of experience in executing many assignments in Operational and Systems Risk Management areas successfully in India, Middle East, and in the USA.
Earlier, Suhas was heading Pune Office of PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he led, as a project leader, a number of Risk Management assignments successfully for manufacturing industry vertical.
Recently, he has also executed an assignment in formulating Risk Management System for a nationalized bank in India and was a key person in installing Risk based Internal Audit for a Financial Institution as well.
Suhas has proficiency in ‘high-end’ ERP control review assignments of large corporates, including international companies. Such assignments involved reviews of SAP, Oracle Apps, BaaN and Movex ERPs from controls and process efficiency point of view for the corporates those wish to enhance management’s ability to improve return on investment in ERP. He has developed subject matter expertise in assessing ERP risks and controls for Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) compliance and carried out such assignments for corporates in the US and other countries for ‘accelerated and non-accelerated filers’.
Suhas is the Chairman of Technical Committee for Middle and Near East Region of AGN International (A Global Association of Accounting Firms).
Suhas is a regular guest-speaker to management schools and has presented papers on Risk Management at various seminars held nationally and internationally.
