Biography
Senior Professional Practice Partner of KPMG LLP and the National Managing Partner of its Department of Professional Practice. Member of KPMG's Board of Directors, Chairman of the Board's Audit and Finance Committee, and a member of its Partners' Rights Committee. Member of KPMG's Management Committee, chairman of KPMG's International Professional Risk Management Task Force and a member of KPMG's International Quality Performance Committee.
Interned with KPMG in 1964 and joined KPMG in 1965 and was elected partner in 1973. He was in KPMG's national office and has served in the Firm's Tampa, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, White Plains and Stamford offices where he was Partner in Charge of Audit and Partner in Charge of Professional Practice.
Certified Public Accountant, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), The New York State Society of CPAs and the Florida Institute of CPAs. He was a member and former chairman of the AICPA's SEC Practice Section (SECPS) Executive Committee, is a member of AICPA Council and a member of the AICPA's Board of Directors. He was a member of the Standards Advisory Council of the International Accounting Standards Board, a former member of the Transnational Auditors Committee of the International Federation of Accountants, and a former member of the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council and the Emerging Issues Task Force of the Financial Accounting Standards Board. He chairs the AICPA's Task Force to Evaluate the SEC Regulations Committee. Membership in other professional organizations, committees and task forces included: Peer Review Committee (SECPS), Group of 100 (AICPA), Strategic Planning Advisory Committee (AICPA), Government Affairs Committee (AICPA), Independence and Behavioral Standards Subcommittee (AICPA), Concepts of Independence Special Committee (AICPA), the Public Oversight Board?s Coordinating Task Force, Financial Executive International and the Institute of Management Accountants. He is the President and a Trustee of the Accounting Research Association, Inc.
Former president and campaign chairman of the United Way of Westport-Weston and former board member of Goodwill Industries.
